This Isn't What I Paid For.

“The sun is always shining.even though clouds may come and obscure the sun for a while, the sun is always shining. And even though the earth turns and the sun appears to go down, it never really stops shining. The same is true of infinite power and infinite spirit. It is eternal. It is healing. It is always here, always giving light to us. We may obscure its presence by the clouds of negative thinking, but that spirit, that power, that healing energy, is always with us.”

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

Three Grandmothers watch the Kim Kardashian sex video. Best 90 seconds you’ll spend today.

I declare this my new favorite video.

“WAIT TIL THEY SHOW YOU THE PROFILE!”

Is Congress getting dumber? A new study found that members of both houses speak at a 10th grade level — a whole grade lower than in 2005.

Moderate members tend to speak more eloquently than partisans and — in a trend reversal from the previous decade — Democrats rate higher on the scale than Republicans, the research shows.
At the ends of the spectrum, according to the findings, are two Republican House members: the loquacious Rep. Dan Lungren of California, at the level of a college senior, and the plainspoken Rep. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina, whose level is just below an eighth-grader.

Awesome new video from Woodkid!

I like this.

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it’s a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it’s a way of making contact with someone else’s imagination after a day that’s all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”

Hayley Williams: Teenagers

This week’s Sunday Night Music Club is a song that Hayley Williams of Paramore recorded for the Jennifer’s Body soundtrack we released a couple years back. It also included songs from Florence + The Machine, Panic! At The Disco, All Time Low and Silversun Pickups.

We’re teenagers.
We count the years.
We think we’re smart.
But we’re not.
We don’t know anything.
